I saw this Lisa Eldridge video (below) for Chanel where she uses their Perfection Lumière Velvet Foundation to create this gorgeous flawless skin. I am totally impressed with the results and the sound of it and think that I might need some. I like that it is so sheer and natural looking with a soft, matte finish. I think this might be the perfect foundation for summer since it is really sheer and won’t be as heavy as my current Lancôme Teint Miracle Foundation. I love the Lancôme foundation but it is a bit too heavy for me during the hot summer months, so I’ve been looking for something for a couple of weeks now as a summer replacement. This might be just what I have been looking for.
As I’ve mentioned a million times before, I usually buy my makeup at FeelUnique.com, but they don’t carry Chanel, so I will have to find another place to purchase this. I know that I can walk into John Lewis on Oxford Street and get it there, but that store is always so crazy I prefer to avoid it and order online. And sadly for me, John Lewis’ website doesn’t have Chanel. The only places I’ve found it online are at Harrods where it is £33.00 for a 30 ml bottle or at Boots where it is the same price.
After watching the video, I’m wondering if you really need the base that she uses, Le Blanc de Chanel, to get the best result. It is an illuminating base or primer, which I really like the sound of, but I’m not sure I want to splash out for that too right now. Unfortunately, they don’t have this at Harrods online, but it looks like they might have it at Boots (unfortunately, when I click the product link I just get an error) for £31.00 for 30 ml. I guess I could always try the foundation first and then decide if the base is really necessary or not. I don’t like too much stuff on my face in the hot weather of summer, so I’d prefer to only have a single layer over my moisturizer.
If you’re looking for a review, rather than a demonstration/commercial video, for the Perfection Lumière Velvet Foundation, I found a couple of nice ones on the following blogs:
