Great Birchbox Deal from LivingSocial UK

It looks like good things do come to those who wait.  I’ve been putting off signing up for Birchbox but finally I’ve found a deal that is so great, I just couldn’t help but be tempted into a six month Birchbox subscription.

Save 50% on a 6 month Birchbox subscription
Save 50% on a 6 month Birchbox subscription

Birchbox is a lot like Glossybox in that it is a beauty box where you can get a selection of five interesting beauty products every month to try out.  I love the whole concept because it can introduce you to some really great items and help you find your next favourite thing.  This is great for a beauty neophyte like myself.  I’ve discovered tons of great new products that I love and feel like I couldn’t live without from Glossybox.  So, I’m hoping Birchbox lives up to that, and maybe is even better.

Birchbox, also much like Glossybox, isn’t exactly cheap.  Though, of course, it is definitely less than it would be if you had to buy full sizes of all the great products you get to try out.  A subscription is £10.00 per month with a fee of £2.95 per month for shipping, so really you’ll pay £12.95 per month for your box.  It’s also the same for a six month subscription, or £77.70, they don’t actually give you a break on pricing until you get a full year subscription.

Normally a six month subscription would be £60.00 with another £17.70 for shipping for the six months, but thanks to LivingSocial you can save a bundle on that price.  For the next seven days, you can purchase a deal from LivingSocial where you get a six month Birchbox subscription for just £30.00!  Yeah, half price.  Plus, you’ll get a big savings of slightly more than half price on the shipping too which will cost £8.00 instead of the normal £17.70 for all six months; you pay the shipping price directly to Birchbox when you sign up.  That is a great deal since you are saving £39.70!  Woot!  You’ve got to like that kind of deal, huh?  The only catch at all is that you have to be a new Birchbox customer.

So, if you want to get a six month subscription to Birchbox, this is the perfect opportunity!  If you haven’t signed up with LivingSocial before, this is a good time to do that too.  It’s pretty quick and they have a ton of great deals on all kinds of services, products, and even holidays.  So, go check out the deal at LivingSocial.

Up To 1/3 off French Pharmacy Brands at FeelUnique

Get your French pharmacy favourites at up to 33% off at FeelUnique in June!
Get your French pharmacy favourites at up to 33% off at FeelUnique in June!

For the rest of the month of June, you can get great discounts on the French pharmacy cosmetics brands at FeelUnique.  This covers brands like La Roche-Posay, Vichy, Klorane, Caudalie, Eau Thermale Avène, Embryolisse, and a few others.  The sale says “up to” 33% off because mostly all of the stuff is 33% off but there are a few exceptions that are 20% or 25% off instead.  Caudalie products seem to be consistently just 20% off.  It’s all quite good savings though.  But you really need to hurry because they are selling out of stuff quickly!  I’ve already missed out on a few things I wanted to try, though I’m hoping they get them back in stock before the end of the sale.

I’ve got a couple of reviews that I’ll be posting this week about some of my recent French pharmacy finds.  I’ve got reviews of the following:  Vichy Liftactive Serum 10 Eyes and Lashes, Vichy Idealia Life Serum, as well as La Roche-Posay Physiological Ultra-Fine Scrub.  For the condensed version, I would have to say that they are all really great and I will be buying them again.  I especially love the Vichy Serum 10 for eyes and lashes because it works well, but doesn’t irritate my eyes at all and you can put it on your entire eye area, even the lid, without causing irritation or problems.  It is normally £25.00 at FeelUnique, but with the 33% off from the sale it is just £16.66, which is far less than the Lancome Hydra Zen eye cream that I used previously (£32.00 at FeelUnique for the same size container), but works just as well.

For years, people have been talking about how great all of these French pharmacy brands are for various beauty needs.  The big reason they get so much love is that (for the most part) they are less pricey than premium cosmetics brands but give really great results with high quality ingredients, often including thermal water. So, this is a perfect time to try them out if you are unfamiliar, but curious.   If you’re looking for some suggestions, I found some great articles that give plenty of recommendations:

Bank Holiday Sales at Two of My Beauty Favourites

FeelUnique: Save 10% or 15%

Dior Vernis Cherie Bow Nail Glow from FeelUnique
Dior Vernis Cherie Bow Nail Glow from FeelUnique

I have written about FeelUnique quite a lot since I started this blog, because they are my goto beauty supermarket. I buy skin and hair care there quite a bit, and they are always the first place I turn when I’m looking for makeup too.  They have a ton of different brands, both expensive and not, and are always adding new ones too.  The one brand they don’t carry that I really like, is Chanel, but I’m hoping that changes in the near future.  Their prices are really good too, usually very comparable to Amazon.  They also let you choose a couple of samples during checkout now too; I think the number of samples you get depends on how much you order.  The really cool thing they do now though is their Try Me program.  When you buy any of the products in their Try Me collection, they send along a sample size of a product that you have purchased so that you can try it out first to see if you like it, and if you don’t you can return your unopened full sized product.  I order from them once or twice a month usually and love how they have free delivery (worldwide actually) and their packages always arrive really quickly.  I placed an order with them around 5 pm Friday evening, and miraculously they had it shipped out Friday night too.  That’s an impressive turnaround time.

So, this great website is having a sale for the Bank Holiday where you can save either 10% or 15% depending on your order size.  If your order totals less than £30.00, you can save 10% using the code UNDER30 at checkout.  If your order totals more than £30.00, you can save 15% using the code OVER30 at checkout.  This makes it the perfect time to try out some new products!  And if you’re going to place an order, be sure to check out their Special Offers page.

DHC: Free Delivery on Orders Over £30.00

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

I’ve been using DHC for years and years, so long that I don’t even remember how long it has been or how I even heard about them the first time.  I do know that it was the Deep Cleansing Oil that first got me hooked on DHC though.  It is a wonderful cleanser and certainly my favourite.  It leaves your skin perfectly clean, but still retaining all of the natural oils.  It can take off all of your makeup even stubborn mascara and eye liner.  It’s something I always have, I even have a small size that I use when I travel.  I love DHC so much that when we went to Japan last summer (where they are from), we took some extra time to do some DHC shopping and I brought back a lot of stuff (we actually ended up buying a new suitcase to fit my items in).  I love just about everything of theirs that I try.  In the last year, I’ve even started trying out more of their makeup because previously it was just their skin and hair care products that I used.  All of the makeup that I have tried is really nice too, and I’m planning on getting their mascara as well because it is in a lot of the Lisa Eldridge videos, so I figured I would give it a try.  Plus, if you order from them and really don’t like something or it is a problem for you, like it breaks you out or something, they have a 60 day guarantee.  I also like that they always let you pick four samples during checkout from their huge list of products, no matter how much your order total.

For today only, you can get free shipping on any order over £30.00.  If you’re going to order from them, I highly suggest the Deep Cleansing Oil. You should also make sure that you check out the sales and discontinued items because they often have really good deals in those areas.

Have you tried the excellent shopping deals at Cocosa yet?

Cocosa: Up to 70% off Luxury Designer Fashion, Beauty, & Homewares
Cocosa: Up to 70% off Luxury Designer Fashion, Beauty, & Homewares

I was recently alerted by the helpful people at SheerLuxe to a fabulous shopping site, Cocosa.  They’re not just the average online shopping destination though, they have unbelievable deals on fashion brands that are probably on your wish list.  They have more than 100 different brands available in select sales for men, women, and children at prices that are up to 70% off the normal retail prices.  They also have some items in cosmetics and home goods which they capture under the category of “Lifestyle”.  You will certainly be tempted by all of the lovely items that they have at their almost unbelievable prices.

So, after browsing through the site over the last couple of weeks, I figured I had to share this with everyone because it is a pretty terrific site.  Here’s what Cocosa say about themselves:

Cocosa is the online shopping destination for handpicked luxury, offering time-limited sales with exclusive discounts on some of the world’s most coveted brands, with new sales for men and women launching daily. We work with over 500 brands to bring you the most fashionable womenswear and menswear, at a fraction of the retail price.   Shopping at Cocosa will give you access to discounts on luxury fashion brands at up to 80%. Our experienced team of buyers’ hand-pick only the most coveted fashion and accessories. We know exactly what you need, whether you’re looking for classic investment pieces, seasonal wardrobe top-ups or just a little treat.

They’ve apparently been around for a number of years (a bit more than three, I think), so I feel late to the game.  However, better late than never.  Recently I’ve seen great things from Diane Von Furstenberg, Alice by Temperley, Nicole Farhi, The Kooples, Halston, Vivienne Westwood, Brooks Brothers, and even shapewear from Yummie Tummie.  It seems to me that the prices are at least 50% off of what you would pay at other retailers too.  And that is what makes Cocosa so amazing!

Here’s a good example of their pricing that is easy to compare: Perricone MD skin care.  They currently have several Perricone products available in a sale that runs through 12 October.  And since these things are so easy to compare, I thought I would do a quick check to see how they stack up against other places.  I decided to go for the product that seemed to have the biggest price tag, Perricone MD Acyl-Glutathione, 30 ml size.  At Cocosa the price is a relatively small £59.00 but at FeelUnique, Harrod’s, or John Lewis it has the much heftier price tag of £138.00; you save £79.00 at Cocosa.  So, as you can see, that is significantly less and seems to be representative of the discounts that you can find through Cocosa on all of their various items.  Certainly even with the £4.95 charge for delivery, you still save a lot over anywhere else you are likely to shop.

The sales are select and there is limited availability, so once something is gone, it really is gone.  I’ve not purchased anything yet because I’ve just been browsing and checking prices and things to see what they were like and what types of items they have available.  So far I have been really impressed and as soon as we have moved into our new flat and have a permanent address where I can actually receive packages, I’ll definitely be ordering from them.  They had some really cool metallic skinny jeans that I was tempted to buy, but I hesitated just a little too long and they ended up being all sold out in my size by the time I actually made my mind up.  Drat!  But that taught me to not be such a procrastinator next time.   And good news, if you’re not in the UK but some other European country, they ship all over Europe for €13.95.

So, if this sounds like the shopping site for you, sign up and start enjoying the deals.  When you sign up, they will send you a daily email message with details of the latest sales.  And really, if you see something you really want, don’t wait too long or you’ll end up like me – metallic denim-less.
